Who are we?

Pharm Flag (RxFlag) serves as the volunteering and fundraising wing of the NUS Pharmaceutical Society’s Freshmen Orientation Programme, guided by our Motto of “Hearts in Action, Hands in Service”. RxFlag aims to provide an avenue for students from our faculty to give back to the community by organising activities to directly engage our beneficiary throughout a semester as well as raise funds for Community Chest through the annual Flag Day, all while fostering close bonds with one another in the process.

These efforts are aligned with our vision C.A.P.E.S.
- Creating awareness of RxFlag and its cause

- Aspiring to inspire peers to contribute meaningfully

- Promoting joy, empathy and passion in volunteering

- Establishing strong, lasting relationships with beneficiaries

- Strengthening the culture of service and teamwork.

In recent years, our journey has been with Life Community Services Society (LCSS), where we strive to positively impact the growing years of youth and children from less privileged backgrounds through activities promoting their holistic development.

Our Events

  • Bridging Hearts: The LTE Penpalship Journey

RxFlag’s LTE Penpalship is a unique 5-week programme focused on building deep, long-term bonds with children at LCSS. For the first four weeks, you will mentor the children through themed writing and drawing sessions, helping them find their voice and build confidence during storytimes and mini games. The journey concludes in the fifth week with an exciting finale of games, where penpals formally meet and celebrate the connection they’ve built through their letters.

Make an Impact, One Letter at a Time

LTE offers a convenient way to stay committed to service while discovering your own strengths alongside your peers. Every session is a chance to grow, connect, and see firsthand the difference you can make through steady, heart-to-heart engagement. Start writing a new chapter of impact. Sign up for LTE to support development and create a meaningful, holistic impact that stays with the children at LCSS!

  • Building Bonds, Creating Joy: The Heart of SBA

Our Summer Beneficiary Activities (SBA) are where our community spirit truly comes to life. Throughout the summer from June to July, we host a total of 10 interactive sessions across 4 LSC Centres. 3 sessions each at LSC Yishun, Hougang, and Sengkang and in 2026, a special bonus session at LSC Pasir Ris

Between 10 to 12 student volunteers join each session to carry out exciting activities—ranging from icebreakers to creative arts and crafts like making popsicle frames, constructing solar system models, and origami. For freshmen, this is the ultimate way to meet your future batchmates and find your tribe in a relaxed, meaningful setting before the semester even begins.

No Experience Needed—Just a Heart to Serve

Worried you don't have the "right" skills to volunteer? Don’t be. RxFlag offers a convenient, accessible platform for volunteering that removes the stress of sourcing external opportunities yourself. You don’t need to be an expert to make an impact; as long as you have a genuine desire to connect and build rapport with the children, you’re ready.

    Grow While You Give

RxFlag is a two-way street: while you’re out there helping others, you’ll find yourself growing in ways you never expected. It’s an opportunity to explore different types of service, see what you’re truly passionate about, and build a meaningful NUS journey from day one. Don’t just watch the ripples—be the one who starts them. Join us this summer, make your mark on the community, and kickstart your NUS journey with purpose and passion.

  • One Day. One Tin. Infinite Memories

Flag Day is the heartbeat of our fundraising efforts. It’s the day students from NUS Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science hit the streets of Singapore. Every donation collected in our tin cans fuels critical programs run by 16 Social Service Agencies (SSAs) supported by Community Chest, including LCSS.

On 26 July 2025, 61 dedicated students from NUSPS  spanned across Toa Payoh and Clarke Quay, raising a remarkable $2,902 in a single day.

These funds ensure that essential care and life-changing opportunities remain available to those who need them most. When you pick up a tin, you aren't just asking for a donation; you are ensuring a beneficiary's program stays alive for another year.

Be the reason a ripple starts. Whether it’s your first time or your fourth, we need your voice and your effort. Don’t just hear about the impact—come and lead it.

  • Raise the Flag, Let the Carnival Begin!

Flag Carnival is a lively and exciting day held at the vibrant and bustling UTown, where flag booths are set up with a wide range of exclusive merchandise to be sold in support of raising funds for our beneficiaries.

Last year, Flag Carnival took place on 8 August 2025, from 11am to 2pm, and it was a joyous event to remember! Our adorable Pharm mascot, Mr Pharmacist, made a special appearance and delighted the crowd by taking photos with the public. Merchandise sold ranged from stylish t-shirts and jerseys proudly featuring the Pharm logo, to flowers purchased to cheer on RAG performers. Not to mention beautiful oil paintings created by our talented freshmen and delicious ice cream, Flag Carnival sure had a lot to offer!

  • Jumpstart is a high-energy, one-day event in June designed to kickstart the Pharm RAG (RxAG) and RxFlag season. As a collaborative effort between sister projects, it serves as the ultimate "first look" for freshmen to explore the vibrant culture of NUSPS. You will spend the day exploring the three core pillars making up Pharm RAG—Dance, Costumes, and Floats—while getting a firsthand taste of the meaningful community work that defines our Pharm spirit.

Beyond that, Jumpstart also offers a glimpse into our Summer Beneficiary Activities (SBA) through the RxFlag segment. Freshman will have the chance to participate in interactive stations that mirror our outreach work, such as crafting friendship bracelets or testing educational games designed for children at Life Student Care Centres (LCSS). It is a unique opportunity to understand how we balance fun and performance with a heart for service, all while learning about the impact we make on our beneficiaries.

The day is packed with excitement, starting with icebreaker games to facilitate bonding with new "Pharmily” members joining us. Whether through learning dance moves, sewing accessories, or building props as an introductory first session to RAG, freshmen can definitely look forward to making lifelong friends along the way.

Join us this June for a fun-filled day of discovery, friendship, and giving back!
