Procter Connect x Chill Bridging Generations, Building Bonds.

Laughter and boisterous chatter resounded through the S16 03-07 tutorial room on 9 October, imbuing the venue with an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie as Procter Connect x Chill (PCxC) brought seniors and juniors together for an afternoon of fun, relaxation, and friendship-building.

Serving as a continuation of the Senior-Junior Group (SJG) event from the Pharmacy Orientation Week, PCxC sought to ease Year 1 Procterians’ transition into university life, while simultaneously introducing seniors to the newest members of the Procter family and strengthening bonds across the cohorts.

During the event, Procterians were split according to their courses (Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science) and mixed across the different academic levels (Y1-4). This arrangement was designed to encourage interaction between juniors and seniors, helping freshmen explore potential Senior-Junior groupings while fostering meaningful cross-cohort connections.

At a time when many freshmen were still finding their feet in this vast new environment, the event could not be held at a more opportune moment. Freshmen seized the occasion to seek valuable advice from seniors who had once been in the same shoes as them. Through conversations over food and games, freshmen gained valuable insights into university life, allowing them to make more informed decisions and better navigate the uncharted waters of university.

The event was not just a boon to the freshmen; for the seniors, the event offered a much-needed respite from the intense rigours of the semester. With CAs just concluded, many welcomed the opportunity to simply unwind and reconnect with their peers, while also sharing their experiences with their juniors.

Ultimately, PCxC was more than just an afternoon of fun and laughter — it helped to bridge the gap between cohorts, cultivate a sense of belonging and a positive house culture, and ensure that juniors feel supported and cared for as they adapt to university life. In bringing Procterians of all years together, PCxC hoped that Procterians would learn what it means to connect, chill and grow as one family.
