Pasteur Food Jio: Come for the food, stay for the hoots!
Pasteur House kickstarts the new academic year with its annual Food Jio, bringing freshies and seniors together through the universal language of food!
With tests and submissions ever looming, few things would make students give up a few precious hours in the afternoon. The grind never stops, right? Fortunately, one of those things is food! What better way to take a break than by munching on some pizza and listening to seniors who’ve gone through the same mods and survived!
The objective of Food Jio was for the new Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science freshies to get to know their peers and seniors. Not only did everyone get to meet new friends, but the freshmen also began to build a support network. After all, life is easier when you have friends to study, laugh, and rant with, especially when the workload starts piling up towards the end of the semester. Having a familiar face to turn to is enough to make all the difference.
An afternoon of fun, laughter, and empty pizza boxes — the best way to start off a hectic semester ahead.
For the seniors, this was also a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with many of the Y1s whom they had met as OGLs during the Pharmacy Orientation Camp earlier this year. Seeing their OGLings settled into university life was a full-circle moment as it was a reminder of how far they themselves had come since their first year.
As the last few slices of pizza disappeared, the room buzzed with laughter and chatter — clear signs of new and closer friendships forming. At the end, Pasteur Food Jio wasn’t just a free meal, but also a reminder that in this community, no one walks alone.
