Who are we?

The International Relations Committee (IRC) serves as the bridge between NUSPS and the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF), the leading international advocacy organisation for pharmacy and pharmaceutical science students worldwide. NUSPS is a full-member association in IPSF under the Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO). Our committee provides students with the opportunity to connect and collaborate with pharmacy/ pharmaceutical undergraduates globally, through organising and participating in IPSF and IPSF APRO initiatives.

The committee is structured into the following branches:

  • Internal – primarily responsible for increasing outreach among NUSPS students through internal events such as An Essential Dose and Global Health Forum

  • External – primarily responsible for collaborating with external organisations (e.g. IPSF APRO member organisations) to create opportunities for international collaboration and events

  • Student Exchange Committee – primarily responsible for organising the SEP and hosting international students from member countries

Our Events

  • World Congress

    The annual World Congress held by the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) is a global conference involving more than 600 pharmacy students and recent graduates from 90 countries worldwide. IRC sends delegates consisting of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science students to take part in the seminars, workshops and competitions held during this conference.

  • The Student Exchange Programme (SEP)

    The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation Student Exchange Programme (IPSF SEP) is an overseas exchange programme planned to be relaunched in 2023. The Summer SEP will be held from April to September and Winter SEP from October to March. Every year, more than 1000 students around the world are given the opportunity to experience pharmacy practice in more than 80 different countries.

  • Global Health Forum

    The Global Health Forum is an annual forum held by IRC that aims to expose students to pressing global health issues and the roles they can play in the field, both in the present and in their future careers. The forum consists of talks by guest speakers from pressing / emerging healthcare fields to share more about their respective fields as well as an interactive segment which allows students to exercise critical thinking in solving health problems.

  • Tai-Ga-Pore Penpal & Workshop with PSA-Taiwan by Project External

    An example of various multilateral collaborations with fellow pharmacy/ pharmaceutical science student organisations from partner countries. Collaborations vary year by year based on partner organisation availability.

  • Pharmacy Profession Around the World

    A zoom event named Pharmacy Profession Around the World (PPAW), a collaboration brought to everyone by NUSPS (Singapore), KNAPS (Korea), CAPSI (Canada), and BPSA (United Kingdom). PPAW included a short presentation from a community pharmacist from each of the countries and then breakout rooms for the students to interact with each other.

  • 1st Joint Asia Pacific Forum on Pharmaceutical Practices: Advancing Pharmaceutical Excellence

    A forum that aims to expose pharmacy students towards their future profession and engage in the unique cultures around the world by FJCPPhA (Philippines), PSA (Taiwan), PSAT (Thailand) and NUSPS (Singapore). This is to allow students to find out more about the differences in practices across the different countries as well as connect with fellow pharmacy students from the other countries.

  • Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium

    A 7D6N event that includes fun competitions, engaging workshops and opportunities to interact with international peers. In 2023, the theme is "The role of pharmacist in implementing SDGs after the pandemic and more" and will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
