As the voluntary branch of the National University of Singapore Pharmaceutical Society, the Essential Medicines Committee is dedicated to orchestrating impactful initiatives that enable Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science students to contribute to the community. Since its establishment in 2002, EMed has collaborated with diverse groups of beneficiaries, ranging from the elderly to migrant workers and individuals with disabilities. We are committed to maintaining this enthusiastic approach as we continue our efforts to make a positive difference in the community.

Our Events

  • Know Your Medicines, Get It Right!

"Know Your Medicines, Get It Right!" (KYMGIR) stands as EMed's flagship annual event. For over a decade, KYMGIR has been a pivotal initiative, fostering connections between seniors in the North West district and expert pharmacists for comprehensive medication reviews. Beyond this, KYMGIR serves as a valuable platform for seniors to receive health-related insights, including information on prevalent health conditions. The event undergoes regular enhancements to ensure its relevance and effectiveness in addressing the evolving needs of our senior community.

  • NTUC Health Befrienders

Seize the opportunity to personally connect with the elderly through our befriending events! These occasions provide a platform for you to build meaningful rapport with seniors through various engaging activities. By sharing valuable insights on healthy living, our befriending events actively promote and encourage healthy practices within our community. Join us in making a positive impact while fostering connections with the elderly in an enjoyable and interactive setting.
