NUSPS Investiture
New Faces, Bold Visions: Welcoming the 65th NUSPS EXCO
The time has come once again for us to bid farewell to the existing 64th NUSPS Executive Committee (EXCO) and usher in a new team for the upcoming academic year. Against the backdrop of mesmerising sunset hues and the long-awaited recess week ahead, the S16 03-07 tutorial room was abuzz with anticipation and excitement as attendees streamed in on the evening of 19 September 2025 for the annual NUSPS Investiture. Among the attendees were the newly minted 65th EXCO, staff advisers Dr Donavan Neo and Dr Linda Hong, as well as other NUSPS members who were there to support their friends.
Held at the start of every academic year, the investiture is more than just a formal introduction of the incoming EXCO. It is a space to realign visions, set directions, and establish expectations for the year ahead. It is also a time for the newly appointed EXCO to share their goals and aspirations for NUSPS. During the investiture, each committee director gave a short presentation on their current and future initiatives, as well as what their committee stands for, giving members and advisers a clearer understanding of the respective committee’s vision. From improving student engagement to organising impactful academic events, every committee showcased their commitment to creating a memorable and enriching year for all NUSPS members. The staff advisers also chipped in with valuable advice and constructive feedback on proposed timelines and event execution, helping the EXCO refine their plans so that they would be able to carry out their roles with greater clarity and confidence, setting the tone for a better and more successful year ahead.

While the investiture might have been rather presentation-centric, the atmosphere was far from stiff or dreary. Members cheered one another on, committees bounced ideas off one another, and everyone took the time to get to know one another better, especially the members of the 65th EXCO who will be helming this year’s projects. There was also some welfare in the form of pizzas and drinks to ensure that no one walked away hungry! Indeed, it was an evening of new beginnings and renewed purpose.
When asked to share his thoughts about being part of the 65th NUSPS EXCO, Andrew Chew (Vice President of Special Projects) reflected that it is an immense honour to be able to serve as the new VPSP. He acknowledged that taking on this role would be no easy task, but remained optimistic that it will be a fulfilling and memorable experience. He added that he looks forward to learning new things on the job and working closely with the team to welcome the next batch of freshmen into NUS and NUSPS.
Andrew’s sentiments were similarly shared by others in the 65th EXCO as they prepared to embark on their journey ahead. With their enthusiasm and dedication palpable to all, there is no doubt that NUSPS is left in great hands.
Once again, congratulations to all newly-appointed office-bearers! We trust that you will bring NUSPS to even greater heights. And to the outgoing 64th EXCO, thank you for all your hard work and contributions over the past academic year!
