The SGH Pharmacy Experiential Learning Programme is a 3-day on-site attachment, which exposes NUS Pharmacy students to the different types of pharmacies present in the hospital — retail pharmacy, inpatient pharmacy, and outpatient pharmacy. Students had the opportunity to observe the roles of hospital pharmacists such as observing how clinical reviews and counter-dispensing were done. The students in each batch had specific rotations around the different pharmacies to ensure that each student would have covered the three main sections by the end of the 3-day attachment. Furthermore, students were also exposed to the various initiatives by pharmacists to improve patient safety and convenience, such as the medication delivery service using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and parceling. Throughout the event, the students were divided into groups and given time to put up a presentation for the last day to share their learnings and experiences of the past three days.
