A NUSPS Inter-professional education committee aims to bring Inter-professional opportunities to the Pharmacy student body by organising Interprofessional Enrichment Activities (IEA). We also inculcate key values in students such as Teamwork, Roles and Responsibilities, Communication, Learning and Reflection, Ethical Practice and lastly Patient, Family and Community Focus.
NUSPS IPE organises SPOTS Inter-healthcare Workshop, Learning Other Languages classes and Fit. Fun. Fruits. (FFF) annually, often involving different healthcare faculty from NUS, NTU and SIT such as NUS Social work, NUS Dentistry, NTU Medicine, SIT Occupational Therapy and more. As the healthcare sector often revolves around an inter-professional team, IPE provides opportunities for the student body to start working with other healthcare professions early and clear up any misconceptions they might have.

Who are we?

Our Events

  • Learning Other Languages (LOL)

Learning Other Languages is an Inter-professional project organised by NUS Pharmaceutical Society for various healthcare faculties to equip healthcare students with basic conversational skills and medical related vocabularies in Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, Hokkien and Cantonese. In 2024, we aim to bring back LOL in the form of hybrid classes to allow the convenience of online classes and the interaction of face-to-face lessons.

  • Inter-healthcare workshop SPOTS

Inter-healthcare workshop SPOTS is a one-day workshop involving several healthcare faculties from NUS and SIT, with the objective of promoting interprofessional understanding between healthcare faculties through case studies and hands-on activities. This year, we are planning to convert the workshop into an exhibition fair to showcase the skills of each healthcare professional to a wider group of students.

  • Fit. Fun. Fruits (FFF)

Fit. Fun. Fruits (FFF) is an inter-professional volunteering events that targets the migrant worker population. It aims to bring together various healthcare faculties to promote healthy living among migrant workers through health education. In 2023, we have collaborated with NUS Nursing and Yew Tee Youth Network to provide basic health education on pain management, while celebrating their diverse culture with some national day elements. This year, we are aiming to expand the event by collaborating with more healthcare faculties.
