Schlurping with Pals(teur)
A Sunset Picnic to Remember: Scheele and Pasteur Houses Unite
"Schlurping" on drinks and snacking on slices
Amidst their busy school lives, students from Scheele and Pasteur Houses traded their lecture notes for picnic mats and pizza during a combined house event. Held on 13 February, from 6 to 9 pm at Marina Barrage, Schlurping with Pals(teur) was a breezy evening designed for one simple thing: bringing our two communities together to unwind.
Crossing House Lines
This event was deliberately kept simple – no structured games or rigid schedules, just a night of delicious food and genuine conversation. The result was a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere where people could move between groups at their own pace.
The highlight of the night was the organic mingling between the two houses. It was not just Scheele students sticking with Scheele, or Pasteur students with Pasteur. Instead, the grass was dotted with "merged" groups. For juniors, it was a great chance to meet seniors in an informal setting and hear about their experiences in school. For seniors, it was the perfect break to decompress and meet the newer faces joining the community over a shared meal.
Students from both houses breaking the ice over delicious pizza!
A Night of Good Company
By 9pm, it was time to leave, and it was clear the event was a success. Everyone had a blast simply chatting and enjoying the pizza. Sometimes, you don’t need a complex program to build a strong community; you just need a nice view and some good company!
All smiles at Schlurping with Pals(teur)
Thank you to everyone who came down to make the evening so vibrant. If you missed this one, don't worry – there will be plenty more opportunities to catch up with your housemates, so keep an eye out for our next chill-out session!
