Procter’s Ice Cream Lab

Procter’s mid-semester welfare event: ice cream synthesis experiment!

On 13 February, Procter’s Ice Cream Lab turned an ordinary Friday afternoon into a whirlwind of laughter, teamwork, and sweet success. The event kicked off with a short DIY ice cream tutorial video, guiding participants through the science behind transforming the raw materials into a delicious frozen treat. With all the ingredients provided, everyone was ready to get churning. House Committee members were present to lend a helping hand, answer questions, and keep the energy high.

Participants preparing their ingredients and carefully following the steps.

The real fun began when the shaking started. Armed with bags of ice and cream mixture, participants teamed up with their TBL mates and friends, shaking vigorously and cheering one another on. The room buzzed with excitement (and some arm workout complaints!) as everyone waited for the magic to happen. Watching the liquid slowly thicken into ice cream felt like a mini science experiment – except this one ended with a dessert.

Shaking in progress…

After an hour of hard work, Procterians finally got to taste their handmade ice cream. From classic sprinkles to creative topping combinations, everyone proudly customised their cups before digging in. The sense of accomplishment made every scoop taste even better.

Beyond the sweetness, Procter’s Ice Cream Lab served as the perfect de-stressing activity as the mid-term season approaches. At the end of the day, participants left with satisfied smiles, slightly tired arms, and memories that were just as delightful as the ice cream itself.
