AY25/26 Pharmacy Orientation Camp

Take a look at how we welcomed our Pharm freshies!

Fresh faces, fast friendships, and full-on fun

University marks the beginning of a brand new chapter in life — and as we all know, that can feel pretty daunting. That’s why this summer, the annual Pharmacy Orientation Camp (POC) made sure our newest batch of freshmen received the warmest of welcomes as they embarked on their journey as Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science students.

Over four unforgettable days, strangers became friends, nerves turned into excitement, and the Class of 2029 got a crash course on what it really means to be part of the Pharmily. POC brought around a hundred enthusiastic freshmen through a series of exhilarating games that were carefully curated to break the ice, build lasting memories, and set the tone for a strong, spirited start to the year ahead.

The Ultimate Freshmen Kickoff

In line with this year’s theme, ‘Codex Pandemia’, freshmen were thrown into a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies and tasked with finding a cure to the sinister virus, ZoVID-25. Following a round of icebreakers, participants played various inter-OG games where the healthy competition helped turn hesitant introductions into united cheering.

On the second day of POC, freshmen had the opportunity to explore the campus through ‘Outbreak Odyssey’, the camp’s thrilling Amazing Race segment. During the race, passionate seniors guided and introduced the freshmen to notable venues on campus.

Unlike conventional Amazing Races, there was no rush to finish first — since the focus was on collaboration, problem-solving, and enjoying the journey. Laughter, teamwork, and a healthy dose of trial and error turned the simple task of “getting from here to there” into a joyful mission worth remembering. Ultimately, it wasn’t about how many stations they completed but about how much fun they had finding them together.

This year, Codex Pandemia featured a whopping total of five mass games — the highest in POC history! Over the last two days of POC, the mass games introduced a full-scale, all-hands-on-deck challenge that turned the entire field into a buzzing hive of energy, laughter, and controlled chaos.

Each game involved strategy, teamwork, and a whole lot of cheering as clans scrambled to secure points, defend their territory, or complete hilarious tasks.

Though the competition was fierce, the atmosphere was still playful and spirited, creating a shared experience that broke down walls and sparked instant connections. In the end, win or lose, each and every participant walked away grinning, slightly out of breath, and a little more connected to the people around them.

A Fond Farewell

Of course, no orientation camp is complete without a fitting finale. As Codex Pandemia’s storyline concluded, participants came together one last time for a heartfelt, high-energy, and unforgettable experience.

A thrilling and comedic Jeopardy segment, a devious and tricky prize auction, and an endearing performance by the OGLs gave POC a perfect ending — one that was both emotional and electric. To each participant, freshmen and seniors alike, it wasn’t just a finale; it was a moment of connection, gratitude, and the beginning of something bigger.
