Pharmacy Seniors

Xinyan

What's the most interesting thing you've done so far?

“When I was taking PL1101E, they taught us the basics of psychology and it felt more like learning about psychological hacks. Surprisingly, these hacks helped me cope better in life. For example, The Spotlight Effect; it made me realise that I don't have to dwell over my embarrassing moments because others probably won’t even remember them. Learning stuff like these is pretty cool.”

En Qi

Major in Pharmacy and Second major in Music, Collaboration and Production

Why did you take your minor/2nd major?

“I took my 2nd major for one very simple reason — that I love music. I can't imagine my life without it and I knew that I wanted to do music more seriously. A good friend of mine encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and the rest was history :))”

What's the workload like?

“I would be lying if I said that the workload was not high :). I had many sleepless nights trying to complete assignments from both majors, and there were many times where you would find me late for class because I had to rush from one faculty to another. But I consider myself lucky to have wonderful friends from both Pharmacy and Music; they were willing to take time to bring me through the things that I've missed and keep me updated on everything I needed to know. At the end of the day, I really learnt a lot and it was an extremely fulfilling experience!”

What's the most interesting thing you've done so far?

“One of the most interesting things I've been trying to do throughout the duration of my second major was to find an intersection between Pharmacy and Music! That led me to so many places; I've held music relaxation workshops for pharmacists, made pharmacy-related music videos, and explored so many other things. But the project that I hold closest to my heart was my Capstone project, where I curated a concert and invited pharmacists and pharmacy students to perform and share their stories. I was extremely inspired by all of their stories and journeys in the profession, and I'm very thankful to have their support throughout the whole process :)) Of course, I have a lot of people to be thankful to, so thank you to everyone who was part of the process, in one way or another!”

Pharmaceutical Science Seniors

Mikki

Major in Pharmaceutical Science and Second major in Life Science

Why did you take your minor/2nd major?

“I took a second major in Life Science as I felt that it complemented Pharmaceutical Science since discoveries in life sciences often form the foundation for drug development in pharmaceutical sciences — where understanding disease pathways can lead to the identification of drug targets.”

What's the workload like?

“ The workload is pretty manageable, and I managed to clear a few life science courses on exchange too.”

What's the most interesting thing you've done so far?

“I took an ecology life science module that was pretty interesting since it is rather different from the usual modules I would take.”
