A collaboration brought to you by NUSPS (Singapore), KNAPS (Korea), CAPS (Canada), and BPSA (United Kingdom), this zoom event is named Pharmacy Profession Around the world (PPAW). The main aim of this collaboration is for students to find out more about community pharmacists in the 4 different countries and also interact and make friends with students of the other countries. We had a short presentation by a community pharmacist from each of the countries and then breakout rooms for the students to interact with each other. The event was held at 9pm SGT on zoom to accomodate for all the different time zones.
The event was greatly successful, around 170 total participants from the four different countries, ~60 Koreans, ~60 from UK, ~30 from Canada and ~30 from Singapore. The students were able to listen and learn from the interesting anecdotes the speakers had from the different countries as well as have a fun time interacting with each other after the presentation. We also learned about how some countries pharmacists can prescribe more medicines, or they may even start up their own pharmacy as well as the differences in work life balanace in the different countries.
