The Pharmacy Profession Awareness Committee is the educational outreach arm of NUS Pharmaceutical Society which aims to raise awareness about the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists. Internally, we target the student body to expose them to various future career opportunities that they can explore during their undergraduate years. We are the committee that strives to showcase the massive potential pharmacists have to garner greater awareness and appreciation for the profession.

There’s more to Pharmacy than you think.
During the winter break on 5 and 6 January 2022, we organised the annual Xperience Pharmacy Camp aimed to introduce pre-university students to the Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science (Pharmaceutical Science) programmes in NUS, as well as educate them about the role of pharmacists. It was a full online camp, attended by a total of close to 200 junior college students who experienced hands-on compounding practical and case studies to immerse themselves in the NUS curricula for both degree programmes.
Clinical Site Visits is one of the key events organised by PPAC. Students will get to explore different clinical settings, be it a community pharmacy or a hospital, where they get to find out more about the work life of a pharmacist in the various settings. While it was held as full virtual sessions last year due to COVID-19, hopefully we get to have physical site visits this year!
FYP/PECT sharing is an event where we invite our Year 4 Pharmacy seniors to share with us their experiences in Final Year Project or Pre-Employment Clinical Training. Through this event, we hope to provide opportunities for juniors to learn from the firsthand experiences shared by the seniors and seek their advice before embarking on their own allocations. This way, we strive to uphold a senior-junior support system that we can all rely on!
